cultural night 2014
It was a great evening for students of SMK St. Elizabeth at their ‘Cultural Night 2014’ held at the school hall on Saturday.
The event, which was filled with lots of fun and exciting performances, was jointly organised by the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) of SMK St. Elizabeth and St. Elizabeth Old Students Association (Seosa).
President of the PTA, Yong King Sung, president of Seosa Theresa Lau, principal of SMK St. Elizabeth Clement Chieng and the event coordinator Kiew Soon Lee were among those present.
The event commenced with a presentation by the school’s gamelan orchestra, followed by a dance performance by cute little children from Xin Fu Yuan Kindergarten, a contemporary dance entitled ‘overdose’ by the school choir, Orang Ulu dance and a modern dance entitled ‘love me’.
After a short break, the event continued with the Iban ngajat dance, a classical Indian dance, Chinese fan dance, Sabah traditional Sumazau dance, modern dance entitled ‘mama’, a traditional Malay dance, mixed dance and the popular 1Malaysia dance.
The event among others aimed at teaching life experiences to the students by giving them opportunity to learn and explore their precious hidden talents.
Besides that, it also aimed to raise funds for the school’s activities.
